I first got involved in radio when I was 19 working as a volunteer for Radio Friern the internal broadcasting service of Friern Hospital in North London. Thats where I first met Paul. He managed to get me involved in presenting hospital radio football commentaries for Arsenal FC and throughout the 1980's I was Barry Davies to his John Motson. That started a career in sports radio that still finds me co-presenting on local radio.

My main career was in Environmental Health where I worked for over 30 years. After taking early retirement I edited an environmental website and became involved with social media being dubbed by one Director of Public Health as the 'Public Health Parkinson' while doing interviews for You Tube.

Life changed in 2016 when I was appointed Group Activity Support Manager for the Alzheimers Society. Until then I'd had little involvement with Dementia so had to learn quickly. It was there I first met Angela who was caring for her husband Dave. When my contract expired I formed TDWRadio in an attempt to raise the profile of dementia on radio. UK Health Radio gave me the chance to present The 'D' Word which was the UK's first weekly internet radio show. That gave me the chance to meet some amazing people and start to develop TDWRadio further to include more shows and ideas. I'm lucky to have two good friends to help me and hope we can continue to make a difference.

After working in neighbourhood housing management in London for many years, I took early retirement in 2014 along with my husband. We moved away from London and we were looking forward to settling in to our new home and making plans to travel. Sadly within 3 months my husband developed dementia and later, Parkinson’s decease.

I

quickly became his full time carer and our lives changed. We were very lucky to meet some fantastic people who supported us both, including Pete Hill. Sadly my husband passed away in September 2019.

Pete asked me to help out on his radio show and I needed something to keep me busy. I help research for potential guests, make contact with them and book them in to chat with Pete. I also look after the social media account and the newsletter and generally try to keep Pete as busy as I can!

I love music, gardening and going to the theatre and meeting friends and helping out on the show.

I started in hospital radio in the mid-1970s. This was at the Whittington Hospital in Highgate, close to Highgate Village where I grew up.While there, I also became a member of the football commentary team based at Arsenal, the local team.

I moved to Radio Friern in February 1980 which is where I met Pete, already a presenter at the station. We struck up a friendship while working on the Saturday
 afternoon sports programme.
I invited Pete to join me at Arsenal, where we shared duties throughout the 1980s while still hosting our weekend shows on Radio Friern, Pete on Saturday mornings
and me on Sundays. In May 1992, due to work commitments, I hung up my microphone, but I remained distant friends with Pete (I was now living in West London) We met-up in person again at a Radio Friern reunion in 2012 and since then keep in contact through social media..

When Pete put out a message for any former radio colleagues to help him, I was happy to make a return to broadcasting for the first time in nearly thirty years, and now host The Other Show With No Name for TDW Radio

I took early retirement from the Civil Service in 2017, having spent 26 years with the Metropolitan Police in Communication,Training, Investigation, Professionalism, Roads and Transport Policing and Borough Command roles
